Privacy Policy
TaxOnPay is designed as a local-first UK pay and tax estimation app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app stores, what is sent over the network, and how to contact support.
Who operates TaxOnPay
TaxOnPay is operated by its developer through the TaxOnPay website and support email address. For privacy questions, contact support@taxonpay.co.uk.
Local app data
TaxOnPay works without requiring a TaxOnPay account. Profiles, scenarios, settings and calculation inputs are stored on your device using Apple-provided local storage.
This local data may include financial inputs you enter into the app, such as gross pay, pension contribution settings, tax settings, student loan selections, deductions, scenario names and saved comparison details.
- Tax settings and fiscal year selections
- Saved pay profiles and scenarios
- Timeline checkpoints and pay change history
- Home input values and app preferences
TaxOnPay does not require you to create an account, and salary or tax calculation inputs are not uploaded to a TaxOnPay account service.
Optional analytics
Analytics is off by default. If you enable analytics in the app, TaxOnPay may record broad product usage events to understand which areas of the app are used and to improve reliability.
Analytics is not used to make payroll, tax, financial, legal or employment decisions. Analytics is not intended to include profile details, income amounts, tax codes, National Insurance numbers, saved scenario contents or other personal payroll inputs.
You can change the analytics setting in the app. Turning analytics off does not affect calculation features.
Network access
TaxOnPay does not need to upload salary or tax inputs to TaxOnPay servers for calculation. Some features fetch public inflation data from the Office for National Statistics so the app can compare pay changes against CPI or CPIH.
Those requests are used to retrieve public inflation series. The app should not include your pay profile, salary, tax code, scenarios or other calculation inputs in those requests.
Apple services and sharing
Device backups, iCloud, exports and system sharing are controlled by you through Apple account and device settings. TaxOnPay does not run its own account service for personal app data.
If your device settings include app data in Apple backups or other Apple services, local TaxOnPay data may be handled by those Apple services according to your Apple account and device settings.
Deleting local data
You can remove local app data by deleting the app from your device. Depending on your device backup settings, you may also need to manage Apple backups separately.
If you send information to support by email, you can ask for that support message to be deleted.
Support emails
If you contact support, you choose what information to send. Support emails may include your email address and any details you include in the message.
Please avoid sending real payslips, National Insurance numbers, tax codes, employer details or salary figures unless they are anonymised and necessary to explain the issue.
Children
TaxOnPay is not directed at children. It is intended for people who want to estimate UK pay, tax and payroll-related scenarios.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when TaxOnPay changes how it handles data, adds new features, or changes support arrangements. The effective date at the top of this page shows when this version applies from.
