Terms and Limitations

TaxOnPay is an independent estimation tool for general information and personal planning. These limitations explain how the app should and should not be used.

What TaxOnPay is for

TaxOnPay is provided for general information and personal estimation only. It helps explore how gross pay, take-home pay, Income Tax, National Insurance, student loan repayments, pension contributions, selected benefits in kind, Child Benefit charge inputs and related payroll items may interact.

What TaxOnPay is not

TaxOnPay is not a payroll system, tax filing product, financial planning service, pension recommendation tool, legal service or substitute for professional advice.

It does not provide financial, tax, legal, pension, investment, employment, payroll or accounting advice.

Why results may differ

Results depend on the information entered and assumptions selected in the app. Real outcomes may differ because of tax codes, student loan plans, pension arrangements, employment status, Scottish tax status, salary sacrifice arrangements, benefits, taxable deductions, prior pay, year-to-date tax or employer payroll treatment.

Sources and updates

The app aims to use official public sources where practical, including GOV.UK, HMRC guidance, Scottish Government publications, Student Loans Company guidance published on GOV.UK and Office for National Statistics inflation data.

Tax and payroll rules can change after an app release, so a future app update may be required before new rates or thresholds are reflected in calculations.

Independence

TaxOnPay is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by HMRC, GOV.UK, the Scottish Government, Student Loans Company, the Office for National Statistics or any other public body.

Before relying on a result
